Whiplash Injury & Treatment

Whiplash is a commonly seen injury at Motion Physio Clinic, Prosperous. It occurs due to a sudden acceleration and deceleration of the neck, causing rapid movement of the body. It is usually due to a motor vehicle accident, but it can also result from a fall or a sporting incident.

Whiplash can affect the joints, muscles, ligaments, and nerves. Due to the complexity of the injury, it can be difficult to resolve pain and restore function quickly.

Avoid prolonged rest or immobilization. Studies show that keeping the neck moving prevents worsening symptoms.

Pain is normal during recovery but does not indicate further damage.

Cervical collars are not effective for whiplash recovery.
